Scuba

I have been TrYiNg to certify for scuba diving....oh what an adventure.

Most of you know I nearly drowned when I was 21 river rafting and therefor have really struggled to be comfortable in the water. I tackled learning to swim, which I am so PrOuD of myself for because I began those swimming lessons doing silly bubble blowing with my face in the water....yes, I know I am not two years old! lol To say it was embarrassing is an understatement. I was that terrified of water though!
Scuba has been another CHALLENGE! Normally when certifying you have two pool sessions then complete a dive in the Midway creator. I on the other hand have completed 7 pool sessions and one creator and still am not certified.

I am not sure if it was the fact that when I was on the dock awaiting to enter the water literally SHAKING uncontrollably or......

..... when my instructor got a BlOODY NOSE 5 ft. under water and watching his goggles fill with blood sent me into an UDDER PaNiC and he had to hold me down under the water until I gained control......

That made him decide I NEED ANOTHER SESSION .....I do not know. What I do know is I am DREADING my second creator dive this Friday...oh yes, on Halloween might I add.

I really can't wait til I get my certificate and can say I am certified........

Then in AFRICA when everyone else is headed out to SCUBA DIVE I can grab my book and a towel and lay out on the beach til they get back!!!

That's really great of you to face your fears like that, most people would just curl up in the fetal position.

Way to go on getting over that fear. I myself am scuba certified and that is one of the highlights of my life when Rhett and I went scuba diving in Cozumel. It was absolutely amazing! Another world down there. So I hope that you can get certified and someday go on an amazing scuba trip!

You brave little soul! The whole thing makes me feel a little claustrophobic....and maybe hydrophobic too.

I think you are great for facing your fears, and conquering them - no matter what it takes. You are so brave!! I don't know if I could do it. Great job! Can't wait to hear how it goes this Friday!

I got resort certified and thought the whole experience was terrifying. I don't know if I will ever do it again, but I'm glad that I tried it a couple times.

Good job on just getting in the water and trying to overcome the fear of water! I myself, am a little sketchy of water as well, so hats off to you for doing it! I ran into your husband the other day! Missed seeing you though! When is Africa? November what?
