Several months ago I got a new calling in my ward...
PRIMARY 1ST COUNCILOR.
I still am trying to adjust as to the fact,
THIS IS AN ADULT CALLING!
(okay...so I know I am an adult! lol but it is work....! A lot of it!)
No more hurrying to put a little lesson together for my Sunbeams,
no more classes where Kris and I team teach,
(I really loved spending all of church with my Mr. Kris)
and sadly...
no more hilarious Mia and Eliza.
Which I looked forward to every single week.
I am all on my own.
I guess I am a little odd in thinking that I would probably have kids,
before I would have a serious assignment.
NOPE...
I have been proven wrong again.
So now I am all alone in preparing lessons as My Mr. Kris
sits close by rubbing it in that he gets to enjoy lessons and just show up to church!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE,
the Primary
and nothing...nothing,
soothes the soul like those sweet little spirits,
but one thing I dislike is...
the anxiety I get over trying to prepare sharing time.
Why do I get so nervous?
They are little kids.....

So funny- I had that calling for almost 2 years and I think I had more axiety about doing a sharing time that I do for teaching a relief society lesson. Little kids will always be brutally honest. ;-) You are going to love this. I can't wait to hear your stories.
Oh man, I hope to never have that kind of responsibility!! You will do well at all those callings so watch out, that is what you get for being so amazing!!! :)
hand outs in primary! what! i am sure you are awesome in that calling. i feel you though, i am the youngest "sister" in my ward and somehow got called to teach?
I was the primary president in my last ward and like you felt like it was a stressful calling at times. But you will cry when you are released. There is just something special about it. You said it right! Let me know if you need any ideas for sharing times.
You are going to do great at your new calling. I know what you mean about planning lessons... I stil get anxiety teaching sometimes. You're gonna do fabulously though!
I am a primary counselor too!! But we have 5 kids max so we do a lot of coloring during our class time! Good luck! It's not that bad :)
I don't blame you for being nervous! I know how you feel. I love Primary but hate Sharing time. That is the only thing I hate doing haha..Colby and I team teach and it is so much fun. Our kids always say the funniest things.
I'm so there with you! Being the primary chorister has been the biggest challenge for me in my history in the church! I struggle with it every week. Some days are good, some are bad. Some I come home with a smile, some I come home wanting to go to my room and cry for a couple of hours. But there's nothing like the kids in primary! They are SO sweet, and they say the darndest things! Anyway. . .I've seen you with kids, and you are so natural - much more than I - and they ALWAYS love you!
that was great!
You get nervous because if you can't keep their attention they say super honest things like "Your hair looks funny" OR "Whats that red thing on your chin (zit)" lol Good luck with that. I just taught sharing time last week.......... no-sudden outbursts last week, but they do happen! you get use to it over time.
You'll be great!
