Not so good at making Salsa....

Kerianne and I attempted to make salsa...
let's just say it was more for the experience
than
actually having yummy salsa canned for food storage.

Everything started out great...

then
went
straight
downhill
from
there.

First thing you need when making Salsa is ....

THE FULL RECIPE

On this particular
SaLsA MaKiNg EvEnT
I failed to copy the recipe down correctly from my Mom's perfected one.
So...
that being said
we missed a few key ingredients.

~The tomato paste & tomato sauce~
HONESTLY
who would have thought you even needed those things with all the gobs of tomatoes we had?

Also the next important key is...

to make sure you are
READING and FOLLOWING the recipe.

Somehow between the two of us we skipped a few ingredients.
I tell you what...

We are geniuses!

This here is a picture of Mrs. Annie Norton, a canning expert...
she came over to be our supervisor.
Does she look like she is supervising to you?
That's right folks...she wasn't.

Annie failed us.

All she did was hold little Wyatt and let us mess up on our salsa...

Now what KeriAnne and I have
stocking our food storage shelf
is...

some seriously salty salsa!

Even Bode and Sam are having trouble eating our salsa...
Little Bode is yelling...."No more..."

If anyone wants a bottle of our delightful,
homemade salty salsa
just let me know.

Remember... upon opening you must add tomato paste and tomato sauce and a few other things!

Lol... we are TOTAL geniuses, I agree! Guess that's what happens when you put two minds like ours together.. nothing short of amazing. (I hope the people who get jars of salsa for Christmas this year don't read your blog!)

wow. Can I opt out of not getting salsa from you? Where did you get all of the tomatos from? Besides, Tomato past is over-rated!
live and learn right?!
miss you!

Awesome.... I did that last year but with spaghetti sauce. Needless to say, my kids think they don't like spaghetti now....lol.

I am just proud of you for attempting to can something! That will probably never happen in this house :)
