While my friend was in town we took a drive out to my parents house. It is like a petting zoo. I always have so much fun when I go home to visit. One of my favorite things to do is feed Scape and Yoda, the two pygmy goats. They love tortilla chips and I just love to her them chomp on them.
When I was in high school my Mom, Dad and I took a trip to Switzerland. One of my favorite memories of the trip was feeding the goats pistachios. Yes, shells and all they would gobble down. I thought it was the funniest thing I had ever seen. When we got home I told my parents I wanted a goat and they said "No". Actually I think it was more like "Absolutely not!".
One day when I was in high school, Mckayla (my sister), Jeff(my b.f. at the time) and I piled into my truck and drove out to Ogden and purchased one. I had it all worked out. Where I would keep it and how I would make my parents love it. As I handed over my hard earned $75 and carried my purchase to the car I couldn't have been happier! I had my very own goat! We must have been a sight driving home that day, all three of us and a baby goat in the cab!
I was as excited as could be with my little baby and decided to name her Scape. I would walk her around the neighborhood and take her on hikes with the dogs...all of them piled in the bed of my truck. Yes, I know I was in high school but I didn't care. Oh how I love Scape, and still do! She has destroyed many things but brought many more smiles than tears! lol....Eating the break light wires off our neighbors trailer, nibbling stucco off the house, she gobbled down countless plants from the yard, ate up our horses tails leaving my Mom bawling and searching on the Internet for fake horsetail extensions!(yes, no lie!) Scape still "baha's" whenever I call her name as I pull up to my parents. I wish she could come live with me but I know my neighbor's might now like that!
Since high school my parents have moved. They now have acres of land for my Mom's horses, dogs and goats. She now has two little eating machines. Yoda is now a part of the family and my Mom says he is even cuter than Scape but I don't think that is even possible!
When Tuck was just a puppy we introduced him to Scape and it was great! He barked and growled as Scape tried to head but him! I love this picture of the two of them playing! Tuck was the cutest puppy ever! Kris and I just love our boy!
I can't wait till Kris and I can have some property with horse rights and fill it up with animals! It will be great!

Awww, Scape! I think you should revise the story ;o) I don't think you could have got him in HS because I knew you when bought him. Is age affecting your memory? :o)
This story is hilarious! MiRanda, you rebellious high schooler! Your parents property sounds a lot of fun! Having that much space for animals must be great! Someday.........
How funny! What a great story! I had no idea you were so fond of goats, but I love it!
